The 3725 sits inside that range without a firmly documented introduction date, but its three known configurations already show Rolex offering the same reference number across a genuine spread of cost tiers — solid gold at the top, gold-plated-over-steel as a lower-cost alternative, and a bi-metal middle tier dressed up with an engine-turned bezel rather than the plain domed style most Bubblebacks carry.


== Production outline ==

The earliest documented example carries serial number 284,XXX and is dated to 1944 by the dealer who catalogued it. The most precisely dated example is the Antiquorum full set: sold new in August 1947, per the surviving original invoice, with its original warranty, COSC certificate and a Bucherer warranty card. Bucherer is a major Swiss retail chain, and a Bucherer warranty on a period Rolex documents the original retail channel the watch passed through — a useful anchor distinct from the movement or case serial. Between the 1944 serial-dated example and the 1947 invoice-dated one, the documented run spans at least three years.

The full-set example specifies a self-winding movement sized 9¾ lignes with 17 jewels — the same movement-size class documented on the 3130 and 3133 references from the same generation. "9¾ ligne" identifies the movement's diameter rather than a single caliber number shared identically across every Bubbleback of that size.

The solid rose gold example carries the most distinctive dial documented on this reference: a rose ground with Arabic numerals at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 only, and no luminous fill at all — an unusual half-set marker layout rather than the full 1-through-12 or 3-6-9 arrangements more common across the Bubbleback range.
